109 million dollars.

109 MILLION DOLLARS!!

Not bad for a seven year period.  Yep, during that time former President Bill (the bone) Clinton and his effervescent wife, the lovely Senator from New York Hillary earned over $109 million.  Bet its been a long time since he bit his lower lip and “felt your pain.”

Between books, talks, and “business” dealings, the family that has bemoaned the plight of those less fortunate racked in a ton of cash in a brief time.  For me, a more interesting point is the tax bill they paid.  Its important to remember these are the same two that have been screeching that the wealthy need to pay more in taxes…because, you know…they owe it.  So with that in mind, what did THEY pay?  31% and not a penny more.  For some odd reason, they took every tax advantage they could and drifted from the 50% bracket down to 31%. Hell I pay in the 31% bracket!!

In typical Clinton form they want you to pay more, as long as they can get by with as little as possible.   Now, I see nothing wrong with every American taking EVERY tax break they can.  I also have no issue with Bill and Hillary doing the same thing.  I just struggle with their skewed perspective of “raise the taxes on the rich”, while not paying a penny more than they were required.  In fact have you ever heard of any liberal sending in more than their tax bill indicated?  So far as I know the I.R.S. will gladly accept overpayments.  No, they squeal about others not paying what they think they should.

Bill made the majority of the $109 by giving speeches both domestically and over seas.  Remember when Ronald Reagan caught hell for getting $2 million for giving a speech in Japan?  Yea , the democrats went nuts on that one.  Notice how quite they have been on Bill’s earnings?  Speaking of Bill the Bone, don’t be surprised if some questions continue to float regarding who kicked in the ½ billon dollars for his library.  Yeah…..$550 million to house his papers……and 1 little blue dress.

So when you send in your tax forms next week, keep in mind who wants to be your next President.  Willing to raise your taxes…..but never missing a break themselves.  I wonder what $109 million feels like?

Well here we are on the doorstep of the weekend and it looks to be more wet than sunny.

Speaking of the weekend, don’t forget to participate in the  “Look Twice Save A Life Poker Run” - Sponsored by Motorcycle Awareness Alliance.

It all happens Saturday the 12th with registration from Noon to 2pm at Whitehall in Anderson.  Cost is only $25.

Then we’ll wrap up the event with the awarding of prizes beginning at 7pm at Simons, right off Clemson Blvd.

I’ll be there beginning at 6pm and for real entertainment the band “Yesterdaze” will be on stage.  On top of all that the grand prize is a “Weekend Getaway” to 2008 Myrtle Beach Fall Rally Oct 2nd-Oct 5th

Best as I can tell, there is NO reason not to be there.

A couple of things.

Why is it that schools, civic groups, little league teams, etc are not keeping score, because it will tend to make someone feel like a “loser”,but TV is full of shows where people are voted off?

And then there is “Rock of Love“. Have you seen this piece of drivel?

Has been rocker Brett Michaels has a house full of border line crack ho’s compete for his love. That sound you heard was the womens movement calling it quits and leaving town.

NCAA final four kicks off Saturday. Its hard to imagine but only 9 games were lost ALL season by ALL 4 teams. Only 9 games! Quality does have a way of bubbling to the top from time to time.

Tommorrow is the kick off of our latest car giveaway. Click on the homepage for details. In the last couple of weeks, we’ve given away tickets to Steely Dan, Yes, Def Leppard, REO and others, and now a car. Who loves ya?? Thats right WE do.

BTW, if you ride a motorcycle you need to be in Anderson for the Motorcycle Awareness Rally. Saturday the 12th from 6pm to 8pm is the date and time and I really want to see all of you there. Hell, I’ll even roll out the “Geezer cycle”. :)
